The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Show-Me Careers is a program for people to learn about the different career paths in today’s environment. It’s a way for education professionals to understand the skills, behaviors and mindsets students need to be successful.

After a successful June cohort (middle and high school educators, counselors and administrators), Mark Bauer with the Columbia Chamber of Commerce says plans are already in the works to continue with the same cohort that took part in June, while also planning for a new cohort next summer as well.

This program is supported at the state level by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The goal of Show-Me Careers is to expose Columbia Public School students to relevant career opportunities.

On July 13, Brian Crouse with the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented the workforce consortium strategy portion of the Regional Economic Development Inc. 2021-2024 strategic plan, and provided information on the Show-Me Careers Educators Cohort.

If a business wants to be involved, Bauer says the business owner can contact either the Columbia Chamber of Commerce or the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry. For more information, visit mochamber.com.
