Located at 20601 N. Rangeline Road in Centralia is Battlefield Lavender, the largest lavender farm in Missouri with more than 2,400 plants. And now with warmer weather in sight, people can visit the beautiful farm during its spring hours of 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily.

Lavender is used in natural remedies for sleep, reducing blood pressure and heart rate, as well as calming skin and healing blemishes. If you want to learn how to incorporate the magical flower into your home, Battlefield Lavender is hosting an event at 1 p.m April 23. Enjoy an instructor-led painting class for people ages 12 and up in the lavender drying room, where you will be taught how to paint lavender on a canvas. While the lavender wreath making classes are sold out, Battlefield Lavender plans to schedule more soon.

Light refreshments will be provided, however participants are welcome to bring their own drinks and people are encouraged to wear old clothes that can get paint on them. Tickets are $38 per person for the two-hour class and can be purchased at battlefieldLavender.com/classes.
