Ready to garden? If you’re still looking for some plants to add, there’s two opportunities to do so this weekend.

From 9-11 a.m. Friday, the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture will hold a Tomato & Pepper Bucket Giveaway at Central Pantry, 1007 Big Bear Blvd., where you can get free tomato and pepper plants in a patio-friendly bucket planter. The planters are five gallon buckets and come with instructions to take home. Be warned that the giveaway will only go for as long as supplies last, meaning plants may be gone before 11 a.m. Friday. Learn more by checking the event page on Facebook.

And from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, the Missouri Prairie Foundation will host a Native Plant Sale at Bass Pro Shops, 3101 Bass Pro Drive. Native plants help support wildlife while beautifying landscapes, and this event will allow attendees to find native wildflowers, grasses, shrubs, trees and more from professional members of the Grow Native! organization. Attendees are encouraged to bring crates or boxes to carry their purchases home. Some of the participating vendors are accepting pre-orders to be picked up during Saturday’s event.
