By In sad news, as of the month’s end, The Station House at Katfish Katy’s will no longer be operating under Vanessa and Jake Leitza’s management. They are unclear what the future has in store for the property at this time.
The two posted on Facebook that their seven-month season was nothing short of successful for their family, and praised their staff as amazingly hard-working. They also thanked their loyal customers and all the musicians. The Leitzas acknowledged that there were a few rough patches along the way, such as the difficulties with the town of Huntsdale and unpredictable weather, which created unreliable hours for staff who depended on the income. When weighing these barriers, they decided “it is best to step away from here and move on to something new, where we can continue to embrace our community and seek more permanency.”
The Leitzas concluded their post by saying, “We are saddened to leave, and we want to say thank you. Thank you for allowing us a chance to provide moments of love, happiness, excitement and fun for you and those you spend time with. This is not the end. We have a plan in the works so keep an eye on social media for information to come. Be well, friends.”
