Tips & Trends For Columbia's Fashionistas

New Clothing Stores Set To Open

New Clothing Stores Set To Open

Columbia Mall is getting some new tenants: White House Black Market and Francesca's Collection. Rusty Strodtman, the mall’s general manager, says Francesca's Collection is supposed to open in March. White House Black Market will open closer to June.

Fans of Francesca's Collection know the store for its colorful clothing and accessories. It's a great place to buy gifts, from a turtle computer mouse for your mom to a metallic gold clutch for your friend. Francesca's opened in 1999, and according to its website, the store is one of the fastest growing brands in women's apparel. The store carries super trendy apparel at an affordable price point. Think of it as a cheap Anthropologie. I love stores that sell cute purses and still leave you with some money to put in them.

The second addition, White House Black Market, is a popular store for career women because of its large selection of workwear. According to the brand's website, the store started as a small boutique in Maryland in 1985, and it now has more than 365 stores across the U.S. The brand received a lot of press when one of its famous customers, Michelle Obama, wore one of its dresses on "The View." The dress reportedly sold out within 48 hours. Hey, if it's good enough for the First Lady, it's good enough for us.
